The sector's friction
Out-of-stock on shelf — the product that should be there and isn't — is one of retail's quietest sources of lost sales: it doesn't trigger an alert, just a sale that never happened. Detecting it today depends, in most stores, on someone noticing while walking the aisle.
How we apply our technology
We use computer vision to analyze shelf imagery and detect gaps, planogram disorder or mislabeling, turning a visual inspection into a data point — the same "turn a photo into an actionable number" principle we apply in Spray Analyzer, even though the object being analyzed is different.
Expected result
Early out-of-stock detection can recover sales that today are lost without ever being recorded — the magnitude depends on store format and catalog, and is assessed during diagnosis. We don't have a retail case documented with our own data yet; we say so rather than estimate a figure with no basis.
